Season Three: August Update

After a very mixed last season, we were looking to make an early impression on the league table. After a mixed pre-season, we were looking to impress. Could we perform well enough for a play-off place?

We had a very mixed first month. We started off with two close wins over Salisbury and Hereford before slumping to a draw with just relegated side Torquay. We then got our heads served to us on a plate by a much stronger Gateshead side. We bounced back to beat Aldershot before giving up a 3-0 lead to Lincoln.

Obi Anoruo has proved to be our shining star, yet again, after scoring five goals in six games. He has been a driving force for us and is doing a brilliant job for us. Since I have took charge, Obi Anoruo has scored forty-nine league goals in just eighty-three league games. This isn't a bad tally for any striker!

We are currently sitting in a very respectable sixth position and we are just behind fifth placed Ebbsfleet on goal difference. Hopefully we can keep up with the rest of the teams ahead of us and possibly climb past them!

September Fixtures

We have a very busy schedule next month, with eight games in total. We have a nasty run of three consecutive away games in the middle of it all. I think that eight wins from eight games will be too much to ask for but I am hoping for at least four wins and to only lose one game, at most.

I thank you all for following my story and I hope that you are enjoying it! :)
Alright start to the season, keep it up :)

Season Three: September Update

After our mixed start to the league campaign, we were sitting just outside the play-off spots and we were very much looking to break in to these spots in the near future. With even more confidence and belief than before, we were all set for the long run this year.

Our first three results were poor but after that, we wee excellent. We went from strength to strength as we defeated one team after another. Tom Rutter proved to be the deciding factor against Macclesfield as his hat-trick brought us from the dead to overcome the shocked side.

An interesting fact is that this is just the second time that Bono's Vauxhall Motors have picked up a winning streak of five games or more, the last being a six game winning streak from 13/11/13 to 30/11/13. Hopefully we can continue this run!

We sit in third place, with only goal difference separating us from second place. First placed Plymouth are six points ahead of us but we have an assurance of four points between us and sixth placed Torquay. We are flying high in the league and we have a promising rest of the season ahead of us.

October Fixtures

With just five games next month, we will be looking to take advantage of the rest weeks and recover our injured players. Three wins and a draw will be good enough for me next month.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you have a good day! :)
Good turn around for the month, nice work!

Season Three: October Update

Last month we showed our ability to pick ourselves up after a poor run. We go in to October full of confidence and the swagger of champions. We knew that if we could grab a few wins this month, we would be in a comfortable position. Could we do this?

We were battered by Ebbsfleet in our first game but we bounced back well with wins over Stockport and Braintree. A defeat by Cambridge in the FA Cup was an upset but we overcame Harrogate and Newport County. Michael Wilde has been playing well and so has Anoruo and Putterill. Hopefully they can stay on form.

We have climbed up to second in the league but we remain six points from Plymouth at the top. Our goal difference isn't the best compared to Plymouth and Forest Green but points matter more to me. We are just nineteen games in but we already look secure in the play-off places. Hopefully we can stay in this position and maybe even sneak past Plymouth to first place.

November Fixtures

We have two home games to start off the month before we travel to first placed Plymouth in what will be a tough match. Three easier games will follow that in a month where we can close the gap on the league leaders.

A Night To Remember

'How bad could a night out be?' I thought as I went with the team to a nightclub for Halloween. We were all looking to have an amazing night out after all of our hard work on the pitch this season. The lads were all dressed to impress the local girls and I stood out quite a bit, still dressed like I was about to perform on stage back in the eighties. No matter where I went, I was still recognised as Bono, but tonight I was going to be Paul Hewson.

We arrived at the club at eleven and we were ready to get bladdered. My wife Alison was worried that I was too old to join in on the drinking but I decided to let loose and be care-free. My first initial thought was that the music was very loud, although I should be used to it. The lads escorted me to the bar where we got shots down our systems before the club became crowded. As the women started pouring in, the guys were naturally allured to them like coyotes to sheep.

Suddenly I was left on my own but I was not worried. I was an old man at a young man's game. I looked around me and observed those around me. There was a young couple flirting with each other just across the bar from me, there was a group of the lads in the corner staring a group of girls out of it, there were small bands of guys and girls dancing and there were some guys who were just too drunk to care.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see none other than Lothar Matthaus there. He was a former German international footballer who was managing AC Milan at the time. He was a brilliant manager and I knew it. We introduced ourselves and we sat down and talked. We discussed everything from football to our personal lives and we had a great time. I will never forget that night.

Good luck on your season! Loving the fiction stories mate keep them up! They are hilarious :)
