Great season, had a rough middle put you got the results where it counted and managed to get a very reasonable 19th place. One of my favorite stories, keep up the good work, and here's to another 4 seasons! :D

Season Five: Pre-Season

After a solid first season in the Football League, we were looking to improve our stature and to improve on last season's performance. This summer is crucial for us as we need to strengthen the squad to strengthen our chances of improving. In this update, I will discuss friendlies, transfers, finances, new kits, opening fixtures and some drama that happened. Here it is:

Friendlies

We played five friendlies and won two of them. The squad have built up their fitness and are raring to go. I was pleased with most of the football but I was disappointed with our performance against Telford. We should have won that game easily. I will certainly be making sure that our defence is stronger than it was last season.

Transfers

We released Paul Ennis on a free transfer but we brought in four players on free transfers.

Euan Smith is a young, Scottish striker with bags of ability and potential. He is pacey, is very good on the ball and has a killer shot. He will be linking up with Obi Anoruo up front this season as we look to improve our goal scoring record.
Star Signing

Brendan Clarke is an experienced, Irish goalkeeper who will definitely be getting a lot of playing time. He has good a kicking ability and is surprisingly the best penalty taker in my squad. Hopefully he can help us claim more clean sheets than last season.

Ross Meechan is another young, Scottish player but this time, as a right back. He is very quick and he has great potential. He was signed to freshen up the defence and to add a bit of youth to the side, which was much needed.

Stephen McDonnell is a very well-rounded, Irish central midfielder. He is a former Celtic youth and he possesses great technical and mental stats. He replaces Michael Doughty who's loan finished last season. I am hoping that McDonnell will play a huge part in our season as he is probably our best signing, alongside Smith.

Finances

Our finances are actually worse than they were last year, but I am not worried. Our stadium will start to fill up a little more this season which will bring us more money. Hopefully our finances will look a lot better by this time next season.

2016/2017 Kits

Adidas and FM Scout sponsor us for another year and the kits look pretty good. The most notable change is the home color changing from white and blue to red. This might be a sign of change at the club.

Chairman Drama

As you can see, our chairman wants to sell the club. I will not mind too much if he sells it to a person who will wipe away our debt and has ambitions to succeed.

As you can see, the owner had placed a transfer embargo on the club as he was in talks with a local businessman over the future of the club.

As you can see, the takeover talks collapsed. I do not know what to make of this because I do not know what Roy Williams would have offered the club had he taken over. We will keep pushing on and strive for perfection!

---------------------------------------------------

So here we are, our fifth season is upon us! I hope that all you readers are enjoying this and I would like to take this time to thank the judges for nominating my story for the Story of the Month for a second month running!
I would also like to give special thanks to Devil. for the new, flashy banner which he has provided for me.
I would like to thank the team of moderators, who have put in so much effort in to making this site a better place for all of us.
I would like to thank Blue for being a great influence on me and inspiring me to keep pushing on through the hard times.
And of course, I would like to thank you guys for reading this story and for encouraging me every step of the way! You guys are amazing, THANK YOU!
Congrats mate, love this story, can't wait to see you life the Champions League ;)

Some good transfers, hopefully the playoffs are on the cards!

Thanks Neal, maybe we can do the impossible yet again! :)

We Will Be Strong!

"We have finished our pre-season, and we are fully set for the season ahead of us. We have signed the players that we needed, we have signed new staff members, and we are fully fit for the season. We have learned a lot from last season, and the seasons before that too. We know where we can improve and we are working on that.

This season will be an interesting one for us. We have the ability to accomplish anything when we set our minds to it but we are not expecting wonders this season. My main objective for this season is to improve on last season's performance. If we can accomplish that, then we are heading in the right direction.

All the take-over talks are secondary to what we are trying to achieve. The chairman knows that and he has assured me that he will not interfere in the day-to-day running of the club while the take-over talks continue. That is all I can ask for from the chairman and I am pleased with his understanding for my position as manager."

Season Five: August Update

So we are back for another season and we are looking to improve on our performances from last season. After a relatively busy transfer window, by our standards, we were suited up and ready to battle.

Results

We started the season very poorly with three defeats on the bounce. We did improve, however, with a draw and two wins which kick-started our season. We then suffered an unfortunate defeat to Accrington in the JPT but I'm not too worried about that competition. I'm pleased with how we bounced back from losing some games to winning two in a row. This is very encouraging for me.

Player of the Month

Euan Smith is my player of the month, after scoring five goals in seven games. This is an impressive tally for the Scottish striker and I am looking forward to many more goals from our new signing.

NPower League 2

We sit in thirteenth after five games. I am happy with where we are as we can push for a play-off place. My main goal, however, is to stay where I am. I don't want to drop down the league at all. If we can finish in thirteenth this season, it will have been a success.

New Signing

Zac Fagan is an Arsenal youth graduate who didn't quite make it at the top level of English football. He is a limited center back but he has plenty of potential to grow and he is physically very sound. He will be a useful addition to the squad.

September Fixtures

We play seven league games next month, with four of them being at home. I will be hoping to grab some wins and not to lose too many this month as we will want to cling on to our position and maybe even aim higher.

Every Point Matters

"We've had a very mixed start to the season. We have had our good performances and we have had our bad performances. We know where we are performing well and where we are performing poorly. We are always focusing on improving and we are on the right path. It is a long way to the top but we are slowly ascending the staircase, one step at a time.

We are a competitive football club. We play a competitive sport in a competitive league. We always have to be 110% focused and ready. We can not afford to take our foot off the gas for a single second. Because one day you will be flying high, the next day you will fall flat on your face.

At this level, every point matters. No matter who we come up against, we must be fighting to the death for each point. We need to have the correct mindset and the correct preparation if we want to play at our best. We have a lot of potential, and we need to prove it!"

Nice update :) Good luck in League 2!
