Out the Door

Bayern boss David Beckham has stuck to his word, and no less than 7 players have been ushered to the Bayern door.

The January window has only just started and with the hasty departures, it appears Beckham has been planning these departures since stepping into the Allianz Arena.

So who are these 7 players that are unable to fit into Beckham's Bayern project?

Emre Can

Emre Can linked up with Bayern Munich in 2009 after joining from Frankfurt, but has not quite found his place in the first team. He was given his chance in 2014 where he made 23 Bundesliga appearances but he has failed to seize it. Once reveled as Bayern's best youngster, the 23-year-old has now not even a place in his Turkey national team. However, Can will attempt to revive his career with Furth in the 2.Bundesliga, whom he will join from Bayern for just 500k.

Lisandro Lopez

No, not the Lisandro Lopez who plays as a striker for Lyon! This Lisandro Lopez joined Bayern Munich from Paris Saint-Germain in 2016 and looked to have assured his place in the first-team. However, the 28-year-old Argentine defender was immediately cast aside upon the arrival of Beckham and will now ply his trade for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig, with Gala paying 7.5 million for his services.

Marvin Martin

Marvin Martin joined Bayern just last summer after his constant refusal to renew his contract granted him a free transfer to the German giants, putting an end to a successful stay with Lille. Big mistake on Martin's part, as he was unable to get a game under both Rafa Benitez and David Beckham, and has played only 3 Bundesliga games this season. The 29-year-old is set to leave for Wolverhampton Wanderers after just 6 months in Munich, with Wolves paying 2.5 million.

Emanuele Giaccherini

Big things were expected from Emanuele Giaccherini after he left Juventus in 2015 to join former boss Antonio Conte at Bayern. Unfortunately he couldn't quite replicate his dazzling form in the Serie A and after more than two years of warming the bench, the 32-year-old winger has been granted a return to Italy, joining Napoli for 1 million.

Javi Garcia

Probably the most unexpected departure was the one of Javi Garcia to Atletico Madrid for 7.5 million. The 30-year-old Spaniard joined Bayern last summer, like Marvin Martin, for 6.75 million on the back of a fairly successful spell with Manchester City. After 6 months and just 9 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarian club, Garcia will now leave to join the man who took him to Bayern, Rafa Benitez, at Atletico Madrid back in his native Spain.

Philipp Wollscheid

Another summer arrival of Rafa Benitez that failed to impress Beckham was 28-year-old central defender Philipp Wollscheid, who has now been shipped out to Fiorentina for 7.5 million after making just 3 appearances for Bayern. He joined from fellow German side Leverkusen after 5 successful years at Bayer 04, but more success at Bayern Munich was not meant to be.

Eugene Konoplyanka

Since flopping after his 33.5 million move to Liverpool in 2013, Eugene Konoplyanka's footballing career has began to stagnate and joining Bayern certainly has not helped. The 28-year-old Ukrainian joined for 6.5 million, more than 20 million less than what the Reds had paid for him - and only made 22 league appearances for Die Bayern over one and a half season. He will now look for first team opportunities at Napoli, joining Emanuele Giaccherini for a price of 7 million.
Woah that's a lot of names leaving the club! But I agree with every departure. Don't see any of them doing good for you and it's money to be reinvested :P
Konoplyanka - the next Downing!

Make Way for Marco

Bayern midfielder Sebastian Rode has found himself as the latest casualty to the 'Beckham clearout', just 6 months after he was brought to the Bavarian club by Rafa Benitez.

It is reported that David Beckham wanted Rode to stay on but decided to let the 27-year-old go, making way for Marco Verratti at the Allianz Arena.

Verratti, 25, joins from Tottenham for a fee of 9.75 million and will look to challenge Ramires and Abdoulaye Sylla for a place in the Munich midfield.

The Italian turned down a lucrative offer from Manchester United and Jose Mourinho to join Beckham's Die Bayern and will now proceed to go about reviving his career - which had looked to be one of promise when he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2012. That has not been the case unfortunately after his poor spells at PSG and Tottenham Hotspur.

"This is going to be such an experience for me," Veratti spoke in English to assembled journalists after his unveiling as a Bayern player. "My time at Tottenham was not the best so I hope to make the most of my time here at Bayern. It is an amazing club, one of the best in the world so I am very privileged to be handed the opportunity to be a Bayern player.

"It is also an honor to be able to play under David Beckham. David's aspirations for the club was really what enticed me to make the move here. I want to be a part of his project and I'm confident I can play a huge role in making us one of the top forces in Europe once more."

Reunion

FC Bayern Munchen have confirmed the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish for a fee of 9.5 million.

The 22-year-old played under current Bayern manager David Beckham at Aston Villa and it will be quite the reunion for the duo, with Grealish understandably respecting Beckham as "one of the best in the game" having worked with the 42-year-old gaffer for years.

"I'm delighted to be here," said Grealish. "It's going to be great with the boss as my manager again. He's done so well at Aston Villa so he's definitely going to win things here too, and I'm excited to be able to be a part of that."

Grealish, who has 27 England Under-21 caps to his name, will also use the move to Bayern to push for a place in the England team.

"I didn't get as many opportunities at Aston Villa as I would have liked but the boss has promised it'll be different here. I hope to use this move here to get more chances to be involved in the England setup. Playing at Under-21 level felt great already and to be able to represent the national team will be a dream. I don't think I've been considered yet but I'll keep fighting for a place."

Aside from Grealish, Bayern also confirmed the signing of 16-year-old Portuguese right-back Rodrigo Borges from Beira-Mar for a compensation fee of 600k.

Author's Note

In real life, the managerial persona I use for this story - David Beckham - has announced his retirement at the age of 38.

Although he was a club legend at the worst club in the world *cough* Manchester United *cough*, I still respect all his achievements as a player and he is personally one of my idols in football, thus my decision to use him in this story.

So basically this is some kinda thank you post to David Beckham for having rewarded us with 20 years of good football playing and stuff like that.

Thank you Becks!
Mr. Freekick is stopping :( sad news but nice post to thank him
