Walcott's Return to London
Aston Villa winger and England international Theo Walcott
has left after just one season with the club to join Tottenham for 7.5 million.
The 27-year-old received offers from Manchester City and Tottenham after Villa offered him around the market, having secured the signature of Gokmen Hacieyupoglu
, which made Walcott surplus to requirements.
However, Walcott has turned down the offer from City to make a return to North London with Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal fans will not be happy that Walcott, associated with Arsenal from 2006 to 2015, has accepted an offer from Tottenham knowing that the Spurs are fierce rivals with the Gunners.
Walcott, who was a part of the England squad that made it to the Euro 2016 Final, has brushed this off and described Tottenham as a "fantastic club".
"I am obviously sad to leave Aston Villa after just one season, where I had a lot of fun, but Tottenham are also a fantastic club and I can't wait to play for them.
"I know I've played for Arsenal before but I hope the Tottenham fans will accept me because I know I am going to be a success here."
In his short time at Villa, Walcott scored 3 goals in 26 Premier League appearances, as well as 9 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions. He also lifted the Europa League.
